High-functioning Autism

“High-functioning autism” is not an official medical term or diagnosis. This is an informal term used when talking about people with autism spectrum disorders who can talk, read, write, and manage basic life skills such as eating and changing clothes. You can live independently. Like all people on the autism spectrum, high-functioning individuals have difficulty with social interaction and communication.
